Brow lamination is consistently one of our most booked treatments at DZ Beauty in Sutton Coldfield — and the before-and-after results are genuinely striking. If you have been thinking about booking but want to know exactly what it involves, how it works, and whether your brows are suitable, this guide covers everything.
What Is Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is a semi-permanent treatment that restructures the bonds within your brow hairs, allowing them to be repositioned and set in a new direction. The result is brows that look fuller, more uniform, and brushed upward into the fluffy, defined shape that has dominated beauty trends over the past several years. No hair is removed or added — the treatment works entirely with your existing brow hairs.
What Does the Treatment Involve?
- A lifting solution is applied to the brow hairs, breaking down the bonds within the hair structure
- The hairs are combed and set upward into the desired shape while the solution processes
- A neutralising solution is applied to re-harden the bonds in the new position
- A nourishing conditioning treatment is applied to restore moisture and protect the hair
- Optional: brow tint to darken and define, followed by waxing or threading to clean up the shape
How Long Does It Last?
Brow lamination results last 6 to 8 weeks in line with your natural brow hair growth cycle. As new hairs grow in and the chemical bond gradually relaxes, the brushed-up effect will soften. The result is at its best in the first 2 to 4 weeks. Most clients rebook every 6 to 8 weeks to maintain the look.
Are Your Brows Suitable?
Brow lamination works best on clients with enough natural brow hair to create the brushed-up look. Very sparse brows with significant gaps benefit more from a tint or tinting combined with microblading (which we do not offer at DZ Beauty — we can advise on this). Clients with longer, slightly unruly brow hairs that naturally grow in different directions get the most dramatic results. If your brows are very fine or damaged, your therapist will advise on whether lamination is appropriate or whether a gentler approach is recommended.
Aftercare
For the first 24 hours after treatment, keep brows completely dry — no water, steam, sweat, or oil-based products near the eye area. This is the critical setting period. After 24 hours, you can return to your normal skincare and makeup routine. We recommend applying a small amount of brow gel or clear mascara each morning to maintain the brushed-up shape throughout the day.
